Mammoth Mountain Ski Area is OPEN as of November 3, 2008.  Mammoth Mountain Ski Area's Broadway Express will operate from 9:00am on a base of 6-12 inches.  A combination of natural and manmade snow will greet anxious riders for the first day on the slopes in California.
 
Flight service to Mammoth is here.  Beginning December 18, 2008, Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines is scheduled to fly non-stop flights from LAX to Mammoth Yosemite Airport.  Daily flights will depart LAX at 2:20pm and land at Mammoth Yosemite Airport at 3:25pm.  The return flight will depart Mammoth Yosemite Airport at 4:05pm and return to LAX at 5:10pm.  There is an introductory fare at $79 each way and regular fares from $99 each way.  For more info, visit www.alaskaair.com
  
Mammoth Yosemite Airport is now OPEN.  The Airport was closed this summer for extensive runway rehabilitation and terminal remodeling in anticipation of coming commercial air service scheduled for December 2008. 

Check out the Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center located at the summit of Mammoth Mountain in the Panorama Gondola building.  Learn about Mammoth's geological history and enjoy the breathtaking views.  Enjoy lunch at the Cafe at the top of Mammoth Mountain.
 
 
  
2nd Annual Mammoth Film Festival

Thanksgiving Holiday Events at the Village at Mammoth
November 28-29
Location:  Village at Mammoth
November 28 - Traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony and Santa's 1st arrival to Mammoth!  Activites commence under the 30ft Christmas Tree in the Village Events Plaza at 5:30pm.  Sing Christmas carols, read stories with Scrooge and his elf, and watch the famous fire candy cane juggler perform.  At 6pm Santa and two of his Reindeer will arrive and light the Holiday Tree. Follow Santa to his special spot and have your picture taken.  Free.
November 29 - The Village will magically turn into a Holiday Winter Wonderland.  Join in with the roaming Christmas carolers, read a story at 4pm with Scrooge at the Village firepits and roast marshmallows and much more.  Free.
 
  


Unlimited Outdoor Actvities await you in Mammoth

It is said that people come for the winter, but stay for the summer in Mammoth.  Mild breezes, sparkling lakes and streams, as well as cobalt blue skies beckons visitors to experience the beautiful Eastern Sierra.  Here are just a few of the fun activities to explore around the Mammoth area:

Skiing/snowboarding

Mammoth Mountain ski area has 3,100 vertical feet that extends over 3,500 acres of terrain.  Three base lodges, Main Lodge, Canyon Lodge, and Little Eagle Lodge provide access points to the mountain.  There is room for everybody, from advanced skiers/snowboarders who can explore the bowls and steep chutes to beginners who can enjoy the flatter terrain.  Also featured on the mountain are three Unbound Terrain Parks which provide an ever-changing variety of pipes, rails, and jumps for riders and skiers.

Scenic gondola

The Panorama Gondola at the Main Lodge will whisk you up to 11,053 feet to the Summit of Mammoth Mountain.  Enjoy the incredible views in every direction as well as the new Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center.


Fishing/hiking

We have an amazing assortment of lakes and rivers to explore in the Mammoth Lakes area.  The Mammoth Lakes basin offers several lakes with excellent fishing.  Other popular fishing spots are Crowley Lake and the June Lake area.  If hiking is your thing, there are many hiking trails which will lead you to the pristine back country of the Sierra.




Mountain biking

There are 80 miles of single track available at the Mountain Bike Park on Mammoth Mountain.  Once the snow melts, trails are available for every level of rider.
